Reasons to start a CVC: network among community-minded peers; increase company visibility through joint service projects; share effective practives on employee/retire volunteer programs; promote workplace volunteering; provide valuable opportunites for professional development; learn about community services agencies and their need for business resources; and have a greater effect on social issues by forming community partnerships

The CVC is being development with guidance and resource material provided by the Points of a Lights Foundation and a toolkit sponsored by JPMorganChase.
