The South Jersey Chapter of the Sunshine Foundation
The Sunshine Foundation grants wishes and dreams for terminally and chronically

Wharton State Forest
The largest State Forest east of the Mississippi River, offers volunteer opportunities
for any interest. Pick your hours, days, and interest. Historic,
gardening, research, trail maintenance, crafter, etc. The choices are
endless. We need assistance with special events, Batsto Historic village,
and many other things. We will accept children 12-18 yrs. of age who
wish to volunteer provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Service

Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge
In Medford, rehabilitates orphaned and injured wildlife for release, provides
environmental education, tours, and lectures on native habitats, plants,

American Red Cross
Burlington County Chapter has administrative and/or

flexible schedules. Assistants are
needed to help with data entry, course registration, and record-keeping. Drivers
deliver mannequins and materials for lifesaving courses. Reception, canteen,
and escort volunteers needed for local blood drives. Disaster relief volunteers
are trained in shelter operations, feeding, mass care and damage assessment.

Bass River State Forest
The State Park Service has a formal Volunteers In Parks. Recent projects include
cleaning dumped trash out of the woods, developing a surfaced trail, removing
tree seedlings from the septic field and replanting them, removing invasive
species, trimming trails, marking trails w/our flexible trail markers, cleaning
up trash from the edges of the lakeshore and wedding the flower beds. Indoor
projects include staffing the office phones, filing, making copies of event
flyers, signing people up for events, checking campers in and learning the
administrative processes of running a state forest.. Volunteers 13 yrs. old
or under must be accompanied by parent or guardian & volunteers 14 yrs. – 17

Burlington County Library System
Burlington County Library System, the oldest county library in New Jersey, seeks
volunteers (18+) for general clerical work, fund raising and as members of
Friends of the Library organizations. Positions available at the headquarters
facility on Pioneer Boulevard in Westampton and branches in Bordentown, Browns
Mills, Cinnaminson, Evesham, Maple Shade, Medford and Riverton. A

The Burlington County Municipal Alliance Network
Works with, and is funded
by, the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and local government.
We plan, coordinate, and conduct alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse prevention
activities to benefit communities. There are 28 alliances serving 36 communities
in Burlington County. Local events and projects need input and support. Many

Evesham Municipal Alliance

Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA), New Jersey Chapter
is a national
non-profit voluntary health agency. Huntington's Disease
(HD) is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there
is, at present, no effective treatment or cure. The mission of HDSA is
to promote and support research directed at discovering a treatment and ultimately
a cure for HD; to help HD individuals and their families through support and
services at their three NJ clinics located in Stratford, Piscataway, and Newark;

TEAM (Teens Exposing Alcohol Myths) a program of the Burlington
County Coalition for Healthy Communities (BCCHC), administered by Prevention
Plus of Burlington
County, Inc. , TEAM is a task force of teens whose mission is to "change
the behaviors, attitudes, and environments of teens regarding alcohol use throughout
Burlington County". TEAM is open to ALL Burlington County teens in the
7th-12th grades; and is looking for volunteers from all municipalities in the
county to help them achieve their goals. TEAM will be holding a recruiting
event at the FunPlex on July 26 where the first 100 kids who register with

Pedals for Progress
Provides basic transportation to the poorest people of the developing
world with the Mid-Atlantic region’s surplus bikes. More than
11,000 bikes are shipped each year to 20 nations in Central and South
America, coastal Africa, the Caribbean & Pacific Isles, Central
Asia and Eastern Europe. Bicycle Collection Managers and Helpers (14+) -
Schedule: 3-5 hours on Saturdays through spring and fall (April and
May, September and October) Task: Work with volunteer groups and Pedals
for Progress staff conducting scheduled one-day bike collection events.
Duties include assisting civic, church, scout or school groups in preparation
of donated bikes for shipping. Task involves rudimentary mechanical
skills to remove pedals from bikes and turn handlebars sideways; making

The New Jersey Academy for Aquatic Sciences at Adventure

Trinity Hospice has two types of volunteer opportunities available:
Patient Care Volunteers provide companionship to a patient and respite
for patients caregivers. To do this, the volunteer typically makes
friendly visits, reads to the patient, runs errands, and sometimes
prepares light meals. Many times the most important service that a
volunteer offers is simply being there for the patient and caregivers
to listen, or to share quiet moments; and Administrative Volunteers
provide volunteer services for specific assignments in the hospice.
Examples are special projects, office filing, copying, computer work,
letter writing or for those who choose, could be trained to provide
bereavement support. Volunteers must be least 16 years of age, emotionally
mature and compassionate. The volunteers must be able to work as a
team player must demonstrate commitment to the hospice philosophy of
care. No experience is necessary as training and ongoing education

Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge
In Medford, rehabilitates orphaned and injured wildlife for release,
provides environmental education, tours, and lectures on native habitats,
plants, and
animals. Volunteers are needed for office work, fundraising, wildlife rehabilitation,
and tours. Opportunities are available for supervised volunteers 12+, and unsupervised

Youth Opportunities Ages 17 and up
Junior Achievement of New Jersey, Inc.
Educates and inspires young people to value free enterprise, business and
economics to improve the quality of their lives. Its curricula address business and
economic concepts, and workforce skills that build in intensity from Kindergarten
through grade 12. Volunteers (17+) are needed to teaching class one hour
per day, once a week for approximately five weeks. Contact Program

US Coast Guard Auxiliary
The civilian arm of the US Coast Guard, seeks volunteers (17+) to assist in boating
safety programs. Volunteers do not require special skills, but must be boating-oriented.

Youth Opportunities With Adult Supervision
Buttonwood Hospital of Burlington County
Located in New Lisbon, seeks volunteers to provide friendly visits to residents,
assist staff members in conducting activities, transport residents within the
hospital premises, and provide entertainment. Groups of younger volunteers are

The Air Victory Aviation Museum
Located at South Jersey Regional Airport on Stacy Haines Road in Medford seeks
volunteers to help initiate Saturday educational programs, serve as tour guides,

Animal Placement Service, Inc.
Of Cinnaminson is a volunteer, non-profit agency serving the tri-boro area.
We attempt to find homes for abandoned and stray domestic pets. No healthy
animal
is euthenized. All animals are checked by a vet before placement. Volunteers
are urgently needed to provide temporary foster homes. Food, litter, and
bedding are provided. Teens welcome to apply with parental approval. Call

Audubon/Rancocas Nature Center
Located in Westampton seeks environmental-minded volunteers for

Burlington County Superior Court
Burlington County Superior Court conducts nine volunteer programs: Juvenile Conference Committees, Supervised Visitation, Child Placement Review Boards, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Courthouse Visitors Assistance Program, Docent Program, Municipal Court Mediation, Small Claims Mediation, Parenting Mediation. The
Emergency Squads of Burlington County
Needs many additional volunteers, especially those available to respond
to daytime calls during the week. EMT certification classes are offered
in county. About half the squads also sponsor junior auxiliaries

Food Bank of South Jersey
Solicits and redistributes nutritious surplus food to non-profit
feeding organizations in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Salem
counties. Volunteers are needed to help sort and repack food items, help
with
fundraisers and special events, and to help in the office. Supervised

of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation
Prevents birth defects and low birth weight babies through research,
education, and advocacy. Volunteers are needed for telephone and

PetPALS
Of Southern New Jersey provides services for the companion animals of people
living with serious illness or senior citizens. Volunteers are needed
to assist by becoming a "PAL" to a client and pet: deliver food and supplies,
transport pets for vet and grooming appointments, open your home to a pet
who needs temporary
or permanent shelter, or assist with clerical work in the Bellmawr office.
Opportunities are available near your home or work. Teens with transportation
are welcome.

Provides emergency material assistance to clients. Volunteers are needed

the Environment of Moorestown (STEM)
Was founded in 1972 to organize citizens of Moorestown to
work on specific local environmental programs to provide
a better
environment for present and future
generations. Volunteers are needed to do environmental education, natural
area
management, field study, record keeping, mapping, flyer distribution,
fund raising, and attending public meetings. Teens welcome

A Rutgers Cooperative Extension program, needs volunteers to take specially bred
puppies into their homes to give them the love and guidance that helps them become

Whitesbog Preservation Trust
Historic Whitesbog Village in Lebanon State Forest sponsors seasonal special
events and educational programs to introduce the general public to the history
of the berry industry and vanishing culture of the New Jersey Pine Barrens.

including seasonal
