Bayshore Discovery Project & Schooner A.J. Meerwald

Bayshore Center at Bivalve, operator of NJ's Tall Ship A.J. Meerwald, has year-round volunteer opportunities at its Bayshore Center in Bivalve NJ (southern Cumberland County). Volunteers help in the museum, cafe and gift shop, at festivals and special events, and assist with publicity, maintenance, fund-raising and more. Volunteers are also needed to help sail or teach on board the schooner A.J. Meerwald from April through October. Shipboard Volunteer Training, required only for those who want to sail, begins in the Spring. Call or email to register.

Burlington County Medical Reserve Corps

Burlington County Medical Reserve Corps is a volunteer workforce of health professionals and community volunteers serving the citizens of Burlington County in the event of a public health emergency, and with public health initiatives (ie: seasonal flu clinics, health fairs, volunteer recruitment). Quixote Quest Teen Volunteer Club

Quixote Quest Teen Volunteer Club is a teen volunteer organization where teens volunteer weekly to help disadvantaged children, or children with disabilities, or senior citizens. QQ also has a special mentoring program where teens match up with a child from the cities of Camden and Trenton (transportation provided) to inspire them to achieve more.  This is a great program for aspiring teachers.

Burlington Center Mall Ministry

Burlington Center Mall Ministry cares for emotional and spiritual needs of individuals—listening, offering prayer support and referral to area resources.  In February, May and November, gift wrappers are needed.  We are looking for volunteers (ages 16+) to work on flyers, window displays and our newsletter, do office work, plan special seasonal events and serve on Board committees.  Training is provided.  Call 609 239-9300 for information.

New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault

New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault  (NJCASA) is the state-wide coalition of sexual violence programs. Our mission is to promote the compassionate and just treatment of survivors, their loved ones and significant others, foster collaborative relationships between community systems, and affect attitudinal and behavioral changes in society as we work toward the elimination of sexual violence against all people. We are a not-for profit, 501(c)(3) organization.

Parents Anonymous of NJ

Parents Anonymous of NJ, located in Trenton, is a volunteer-based organization which provides services to parents throughout New Jersey.  Several programs are open to volunteers interested in child abuse prevention: Parent Stressline/Family Helpline Volunteer, Parent support Group and HOPES Group Facilitators and Office Volunteers.  Training is free and includes comprehensive materials, support and supervision.  Contact Laurie Komjati, Volunteer Director at 609-585-7666 -  lkomjati@paofnj.org

Pedals for Progress

Pedals for Progress provide basic transportation to the poorest people of the developing world with the Mid-Atlantic region’s surplus bikes.  Bicycle Collection Managers and Helpers (14+)  - Schedule: 3-5 hours on Saturday or Sunday through spring and fall (April and May, September and October) Task: Work with volunteer groups and Pedals for Progress staff conducting scheduled one-day bike collections. Large numbers Warehouse Manager Schedule: Saturdays in spring and fall. Occasional weekdays throughout the year at your convenience.
