Emergency Squads of Burlington County

The Emergency Squads of Burlington County need many additional volunteers, especially those available to respond to daytime calls during the week.  EMT certification classes are offered in county.  About half the squads also sponsor junior auxiliaries for teen volunteers. Burlington County Municipal Alliance Network

Burlington County Municipal Alliance Network works with, and is funded by, the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, county and local government.  Municipal Alliances plan, coordinate, and conduct alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse prevention activities to benefit communities.  There are 26 alliances serving 33 communities in Burlington County.  Local events and projects need input and support.  There are many volunteer opportunities for adults and groups of supervised teens.  Call the County Municipal Alliance Coordinator at 609-265-5538   Elfrieda Francis,

Burlington County Superior Court

Burlington County Superior Court conducts nine volunteer programs: Juvenile Conference Committees, Supervised Visitation, Child Placement Review Boards, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Courthouse Visitors Assistance Program, Docent Program, Municipal Court Mediation, Small Claims Mediation, Parenting Mediation. Head Start, a Burlington County Community Action Program (BCCAP)

Head Start, a Burlington County Community Action Program (BCCAP), with centers in Browns Mills, Burlington, Delanco, Mount Holly, Pemberton, Sunbury, and Willingboro, needs volunteers to monitor busses, assist classroom teachers, help the centers' cooks, and perform other activities.  Volunteers must be 18+, and may or may not be relatives of students.  Call 609-261-2323. Bayshore Discovery Project & Schooner A.J. Meerwald

Bayshore Center at Bivalve, operator of NJ's Tall Ship A.J. Meerwald, has year-round volunteer opportunities at its Bayshore Center in Bivalve NJ (southern Cumberland County). Volunteers help in the museum, cafe and gift shop, at festivals and special events, and assist with publicity, maintenance, fund-raising and more. Volunteers are also needed to help sail or teach on board the schooner A.J. Meerwald from April through October. Shipboard Volunteer Training, required only for those who want to sail, begins in the Spring. Call or email to register.
