Retired and Senior
Volunteer Program (RSVP)
Retired and Senior
Volunteer Program (RSVP) is looking for adults (55 and older)
who are willing to share their wealth of life experiences with others.
Persons are needed to work in a great variety of volunteer opportunities.
For more information and to volunteer call: Extension 1498 at (609)
894-9311 or (856) 222-9311.
RSVP provides opportunities for older adults to develop a recognized
role in the community and a meaningful life in retirement through
significant volunteer service. Through RSVP, people can find satisfying
volunteer
opportunities which utilize their talents, abilities and experience
in useful service to their community.
RSVP is a nation-wide program partially funded by the Corporation
for National and Community Service, a federal agency. Locally,
RSVP is sponsored by the Burlington County College Office of Community
Enrichment.
Each person who wishes to volunteer will have an interview with
an
RSVP staff person. The staff person will discuss the volunteer’s
past experience, interests, talents and the varied opportunities
for service in the community.
Accident insurance is provided at no cost to each volunteer while
in route and on the job.
Volunteers may receive reimbursement, if
requested, from RSVP for
out-of-pocket expenses such as transportation and meals.
Volunteer assignments can be as different as the people filling
them! Examples of volunteer placements are: Helping with children
in schools/childcare,
working with animals, management and planning, performing
varied office duties, helping in libraries, teaching adults to
read, health insurance counseling, friendly visiting, financial
counseling, and staffing crisis hotlines. |
