Mentoring Opportunities

A Mentor is a caring, experienced adult who serves in the role of tutor or coach to a protégé or person of lesser experience in the role of a student, for the purpose of modeling essential life lessons.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Burlington County, located in Beverly, is a social service program for children who have shown a need for positive development through the help of qualified, interested adults to improve relationships and performance at home, school, and in the community. BB/BS needs volunteers, including seniors, to serve as adult role models, friends, and mentors. Volunteers are also needed in the office, to assist with educational activities, and/or special events. Bordentown Regional Schools - Community Volunteer Program. Volunteers are needed for both long and short term assignments working with students K-12: Educational support services - clerical, health, and library services; Sharing experiences - Career, travels, hobbies, special interests; Tutoring - Reading/listening to students, arts & crafts, cooking, computers; Mentoring – working one-on-one with students. Boys & Girls Club of Burlington County, is youth service organization with mentoring services, it offers an after school program of homework help, tutoring, computer learning and fun for students K-12, a Saturday academy, as well as a summer day camp program. Adult volunteers are needed to serve as mentors, homework helpers and tutors, clerical assistants, fundraisers, arts & crafts facilitators, and help with committee and board work. Burlington City Youth Education Mentoring Program needs adult volunteers to mentor students at Burlington City Schools one hour a week (October to June) and attend free educational activities (i.e. Philadelphia Zoo, Camden Aquarium). (609) 387-5975

Triple M-Plus Technology Center, Inc. represents the realization of a local church's vision for the educational enrichment and empowerment of disadvantaged youth and adults. Established December 2000 by the Second Baptist Church of Moorestown as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, the center is dedicated to helping low-income youth and families in northern Burlington County develop computer literacy skills enabling them to thrive academically and also become productive members of the County's workforce.
