  • Food Bank of South Jersey’s Summer Meals - Volunteers Needed

    School is soon to be OUT which means that the Food Bank of South Jersey’s Summer Meals are IN! Our Summer Meals program provides children with FREE breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks from June 12th to September 1st throughout South Jersey. We are currently looking for volunteers to prepare and package these meals to be distributed over the next few months. Volunteers must be over the age of 13 and if under the age of 16 they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The many crafts we offer, including bead making, tie blanket making, & artwork inspired by famous artists, encourage our residents to share their talents. One may never expect it, but even in our most reserved residents, an artist dwells!  What we expect from our volunteers is a compassionate nature, willing to take part in our daily activities such as exercise, bingo, reading groups, crafts, cognitive exercises, and coffee socials.   • Hug Wraps - Hospital Gown Alternatives for Cancer Patients Needs Volunteers

    Hug Wraps. a 501c(3) nonprofit makes hospital gown alternatives for cancer patients to wear to various treatments. Volunteer needs include: Grant Writers, Fundraising help ,Social Media help, Graphic Designers and Legal Counsel .The first Saturday of each month, Hug Wraps meets from 10-2 at: Olde City Quilts, 339 High St. Burlington, NJ Volunteers are welcome to come! Even if you can't sew, there is always something for you to do! We Welcome: high school teens that need to fulfill community service hours, Girl Scout & church groups, to fulfill their community commitments for badges, National Honor Society teens, looking to fulfill hour requirements.     Virtua Memorial Hospital seeks volunteers to work in several areas of the hospital and Auxiliary Thrift Shop located at 798 Woodlane Rd., Westampton, NJ 08060.  Shop hours Mon.- Thurs. 10am to 5pm, Fri. - 10am to 2pm and Sat 10am to 3pm.   • It Takes A Village

    It Takes A Village is a caring, all volunteer organization dedicated to helping seniors, disabled of any age and returning vets in the following ways :Shop for groceries ( with or without the client, run errands, visit clients, call and just chat, drive clients to doctors and rehab (when planned ahead ), read to the visually impaired. The areas we cover presently, in Burlington County are : Cinnaminson, Delran, Hainesport, Maple Shade, Moorestown, Mount Laurel . There are no charges for our services but we do ask, if possible for a $ 20 donation ( tax deductible ) once a YEAR ! (to help cover our insurance costs) We are an interfaith community! Our list of needy clients is growing and we need men and women to help these neighbors! All our volunteers attend a one hour training given once a month.   • Rancocas Nature Center

    Rancocas Nature Center, 794 Rancocas Road (Exit 45A off Rt. 295) Westampton, NJ  needs volunteers for help with various activities at the Center. Some of these include gardening, working in our little store & answering the phone, maintaining website and Facebook pages, email and regular announcements, as well as speakers with expertise on various nature related topics.     Habitat for Humanity Burlington County and Greater Trenton-Princeton is calling for volunteers with a variety of skills and proficiencies to help to finish constructing our current homes and assist in our ReStore located in Maple Shade.   • American Red Cross- New Jersey Region

    American Red Cross-New Jersey Region –– Volunteers are needed to help in Disaster Assistance, Blood Services and with the Pillowcase Project.  Volunteers in Disaster Assistance are trained and able to respond to local Disasters and assist in Shelters.  Blood Services volunteers assist with Registration and Refreshments at Blood Drives and also to transport Blood for processing; or transporting blood for processing.  Pillowcase Project is in need of facilitators – we will train - to present this preparedness program to students in grades 3 to 5.   For Students: 13plus youth can participate in youth group activities and Red Cross projects.  To learn more about opportunities in the Red Cross please email bea.frost@redcross.org Website:www.redcross.org/nj/camden or call (856) 365-7100 x 231.

    Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice Volunteer Orientation (must attend prior to any training).

    Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice SamariTeens

    High School teens are invited to participate in our ongoing youth group called SamariTeens. We meet one evening per month, from 6-7:30pm, in Marlton to make crafts for our patients. Occasionally we visit assisted living residences to play games or do other projects. Teens also participate in fundraisers, yard work for our patients, and annual events. Summer activities are held during the day. There are no mandatory requirements.
