National Trails Day 2018 at Bass River State Forest
Bass River Twp., NJ – Join Bass River State Forest staff and Outdoor Club of South Jersey volunteers on Saturday June 9th from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate the American Hiking Society’s 26th Annual National Trails Day.
Volunteer assignments include repairs to the BATONA boardwalk, trimming trails and removing trash. Younger volunteers can help by cleaning the interpretive panels along the forest trails.
Meet at the Forest Office (762 Stage Road) by 9:30 a.m. Bring, loppers, water, sunscreen and insect repellent. Free hot dogs, drinks and chips will be served at the Forest Office at 1 p.m.
The forest has over 12 miles of marked trails. Stop by the Forest Office for a trail map. This is a great project for scouts and students to get community service credit.
